A productive garden rooted in Mediterranean living
Designed for a private Mexican-style villa in Kavouri–Vouliagmeni, this garden transforms a series of compact raised beds into a productive and ornamental landscape. The planting combines seasonal vegetables, culinary herbs, edible flowers and pollinator-friendly species, creating a space where beauty and harvest coexist throughout the year.
Raised timber beds organize the garden into distinct growing zones, while lavender, oregano, thyme, sage, strawberries, nasturtiums and pansies soften the transition between cultivated and ornamental areas. Leafy greens, kale, rocket, mustard greens, leeks and other seasonal crops provide continuous productivity, bringing the principles of kitchen gardening closer to everyday life.
The project embraces a relaxed Mediterranean character, blending food production, biodiversity and sensory planting into a landscape that feels both abundant and effortless. Rather than separating utility from aesthetics, the garden celebrates the idea that edible spaces can become an integral part of contemporary outdoor living.
