A concept study for Dorothy Snot Kindergarten
This concept study explores how everyday educational spaces can become living environments that nurture curiosity, creativity, and a meaningful connection with nature. Developed for Dorothy Snot Kindergarten, the proposal reimagines circulation areas, courtyards, and outdoor play zones as immersive landscapes where learning extends beyond the classroom.
The design introduces edible gardens, sensory planting, pollinator-friendly habitats, and playful green interventions that invite children to observe, cultivate, and interact with living systems. Raised planting beds, flowering borders, and shaded outdoor spaces create opportunities for hands-on exploration while enriching biodiversity within a dense urban setting.
Rather than treating landscape as decoration, the proposal views nature as an active educational companion. By bringing food growing, seasonal change, and ecological processes into everyday school life, the project seeks to foster environmental awareness through direct experience, play, and discovery.
