A Mediterranean-inspired rooftop landscape overlooking the Acropolis, designed to transform a compact urban terrace into a calm hospitality experience rooted in texture, seasonality, and Athenian atmosphere.
This rooftop installation in the Acropolis area was designed for a short-term rental property managed by a hospitality management company, with the goal of enhancing both guest experience and the architectural identity of the space.
The planting composition combines Mediterranean and drought-tolerant species — including olive trees, oleanders, dwarf shrubs, sculptural foliage plants, and textured perennials — arranged through layered terracotta planters and soft natural tones that blend with the Athenian skyline and surrounding urban fabric.
Particular emphasis was placed on creating a visual dialogue between the terrace and the Acropolis view, introducing a calm, lived-in atmosphere that feels simultaneously local, contemporary, and timeless. The overall intervention functions not only as a decorative landscape installation, but as an extension of the hospitality experience itself: a rooftop micro-retreat embedded within the city.
The project follows a low-maintenance planting strategy adapted to Mediterranean climatic conditions and rooftop exposure, while preserving seasonal variation, biodiversity value, and year-round visual presence.
